With the quarter-finals of the Friends Provident FA Cup taking centre stage this weekend (see left), there’s a reduced programme of league fixtures on Saturday.

With the top three sides all in cup action, attention in the Canada Life Premier League switched to Corinthians who travel to St John’s.

The fourth-placed Whites have lost their momentum lately and will be eager to put last weeks’ defeat to DHSOB behind them.

There’s an interesting battle taking place at the Station Fields where Colby and Ramsey go head-to-head knowing that a win for either side would all but ensure their top flight survival for another season.

Buoyed by that impressive victory against Corinthians at the Bowl last week, Old Boys will be favourites to make it three wins on the bounce when they travel to Glen Road to face Laxey.

Away from the top flight, there’s an intriguing game in store at Springfield Road where free-scoring Pulrose United, fresh from their 11-1 hammering of RYCOB last time out, take on second-placed Castletown who need a win to keep alive their fading hopes of promotion to the top flight.

By contrast, a win for long-time league leaders Douglas Royal at home to Governor’s Athletic would all but clinch their place in the Premier League next season.

The final game of the day in the second division sees Gymns, who were held 1-1 by Governor’s last time out, travel north to take on a RYCOB side still smarting from that aforementioned drubbing at Pulrose.
