It’s ’Super Saturday’ in the Keystone Law Hospital Cup this weekend.

The competition’s two semi-finals take place on adjacent pitches at Ballafletcher.

FA Cup winners Corinthians face Rushen United on Douglas Royal’s usual stomping ground.

The pair have played each other twice in the last six weeks, both sides claiming a league win apiece suggesting a nip-and-tuck last-four tie lies in wait.

Corinthians will be sweating on the fitness of skipper Sean Doyle who hobbled off during last week’s 7-0 win over Laxey.

The Whites have been in good fettle, winning their last seven since the Spaniards defeated them at Ballafletcher last month.

Danny McMahon’s charges have also kept five clean sheets in their last five games, scoring 27 in the same period.

Rushen are also unbeaten in their last seven, but required a late leveller from Mike Williams to preserve that record at DHSOB on Tuesday night.

Liam Cowin’s side also had to come from behind to beat Division Two Malew in the quarter-finals of this competition last weekend, suggesting the Croit Lowey outfit might not be firing on all cylinders.

This one will be close, but expect Corinthians just to edge it and keep alive their hopes of claiming the Grand Slam.

The other semi-final looks a bit more straightforward as holders St George’s take on Douglas Athletic on Corinthians’ pitch.

A quirk in the fixtures means these two only met on Tuesday evening in the pair’s rearranged league fixture, Geordies triumphing 9-0.

Athletic battled hard to overcome Marown in the last round, but will face a uphill struggle to derail a Geordies side still in the hunt for the treble.

Both games kick-off at 3pm with the gate going to charity.
