There was a much-reduced fixture list across the Manx football leagues on Saturday afternoon as only a few games survived the weather.
With second-placed Rushen United’s game at St George’s being called off, Corinthians moved seven points clear at the top of the Canada Life Premier League with a 2-0 win at managerless Peel courtesy of goals from Luke Murray and Stephen Whitley.
DHSOB continued their recent resurgence with a hard-fought win over bottom-of-the-table St John’s in a match switched to the Bowl.
Paul Whitehead and player/manager Callum Taggart gave the Saints hope, but a brace from JJ Ballanda plus a Mikey Booth strike sealed a 3-2 victory for Old Boys.
The only other game to survive the weather in the top flight saw Ayre United come from behind to defeat Douglas Royal at Ballafletcher.
Jamie Agnew opened the scoring for the home side in front but a quickfire double by Shaun Kelly sealed the three points for the Tangerines.
In JCK Division Two, only three games went ahead and the standout match saw Malew romp to a 7-1 derby victory over Colby at Clagh Vane.
Jamie Skillen and Kieran Krypner both netted twice for the home side and were joined on the scoresheet by Craig Cowin, Phil Knox and Jack Gilbert.
That scoreline was replicated at Groves Road where Foxdale got the better of Douglas and District, while the other match saw Governor’s Athletic and Braddan play out a 1-1 draw at the Station Fields.
