Corinthians striker Sean Doyle has been named as the Canada Life Premier League Player of the Month for March.

The Whites frontman enjoyed a stellar month for the Ballafletcher outfit as his side clinched second place in the Premier League, their highest league finish to date since the club was formed 87 years ago.

Doyle was instrumental in the Whites’ three wins during the month, getting on the scoresheet three times including netting his side’s 100th goal of the season during their 6-2 demolition of nearest rivals St Mary’s.

As such, the tall forward impressed Eric Clague’s ratings panel and garnered a score of 8.5 points for his efforts during March.

To top it off, Doyle was also this week named in Nick Hurt’s Isle of Man FA representative side that will travel to Gotland in June for the NatWest Island Games.

His score of 8.5 was comfortably ahead of nearest challenger and team-mate Tom Callister who also enjoyed a fine month for the Whites.

The former Castletown man shone in the Corinthians engine room throughout the month to gain a score of five points, just half a mark ahead of a trio of players on 4.5.

These are St John’s duo Andrew Chadwick and Rhys Oates plus yet another Corinthians player in Stephen Whitley who completes the top five.

Chadwick and Oates have both enjoyed fine seasons for the Saints and helped their side bounce back from defeat to Corinthians with a hard-fought win, the latter grabbing an important goal during their 2-1 victory against Laxey, while Whitley helping himself to three goals for Corinthians including a brace against his former club St Mary’s.

As a result of his performances, Oates has been named as the Canada Life Young Player of the Month for March.
