The overnight wet weather meant only seven of Manx football’s fixture card went ahead on Saturday.
St George’s moved to within three points of current Premier League pacesetters Peel and Corinthians with an 8-2 win over Colby. The game at a blustery Glencrutchery Road was one of only two Canada Life Premier League games to beat the weather.
In the other top-flight game Rushen United overcame Douglas Royal 4-1 to keep their spot in the top four.
The preliminary round of the GH Corlett Woods Cup was also hit by the weather with only a couple of games going ahead.
Goals from Ben Hall and Daniel Clague-Stewart gave Douglas and District a 2-0 win over Gymns.
Governor’s Athletic’s game with Michael United was a late kick-off at the artificial surface at Bemahague, the westerners advancing to the next round after an epic penalty shoot-out.
Braddan won the outstanding FPI FA Cup prelim round tie with Foxdale, triumphing 3-1 over the second-tier side in match switched to the Bowl.
Joey Andrews headed the Premier League side in front, before Jay Chatwood’s equaliser threatened to send the tie to extra-time. However, late goals from Lee Currer and Andy Glover ensured the Swans’ name is in the draw for the first round proper next weekend.
In JCK Combination Two, Castletown and Onchan claimed good wins over Ayre United and Marown respectively in the only other football played.
