Graham Kennish has been named as the Canada Life Premier League Player of the Month for December and January.
The RYCOB star has enjoyed a stellar season for the northerners, producing a string for impressive performances in the heart of the Youthie defence despite the side’s lowly position in the Canada Life Premier League.
With a raft of cup games taking place over the past couple of months, namely the Railway Cup and FA Cup, fixtures in the top flight of Manx football have been much reduced recently.
Therefore, Eric Clague’s esteemed player ratings panel made the decision to combine the awards for December and January.
Kennish’s standout showings for Youthie garnered him a score of 7.5 points in the standings, placing him half a mark ahead of Peel’s Jake Robertshaw.
The latter is enjoying a breakthrough season for the westerners and scored goals against the likes of Rushen, Douglas Royal and St George’s during the two months.
As such, Robertshaw finished second overall and was also named the Canada Life Young Player of the Month.
Completing the top three is Rushen United teenager Scott Mason who, like Robertshaw, has caught the eye in the Premier League this season with a series of fine performances for the Spaniards to help the Croit Lowey side move to the top of the table.
Behind him are three players all on six points, including his Rushen team-mate Stephen Riding alongside Laxey’s Max Murley and Peel’s Tom Wood. Another Spaniard to impress is FC Isle of Man star Adam Cooil with 5.5 points.
