A number of fantastic performances last weekend made it very hard to narrow down the 11 best players into Manx Hockey Association’s latest Team of the Week.
Goalkeeper
Seth Millar (Bacchas U15s) - in his debut for Bacchas U15s, Seth did not shy away from the step up in difficulty. Keeping a clean sheet and making a number of key saves.
Defenders
Bree Collister (IoM U16 girls) - playing at the back in another victory for the island u16 girls, Bree was a key part in her side's victory. Despite taking a stick to the knee, she was crucial in defence and scored her flick in the shootout to help the squad to victory.
Florence Hesselton (Castletown Carrick) - although on the wrong end of the scoreline, Hesselton excelled at the back for her team, making a number of crucial interceptions.
Lucas Harding (Bacchas C) - Harding once again was a rock at the back for Bacchas C. One of the most reliable players in the island, he kept the scoreline low by stopping numerous opposition attacks and kept his cool in a tough game.
Midfielders
Christina Kermeen (Ramsey A) - in a vital victory for Ramsey A, Kermeen was named as player of the game. On her way to defeating the league leaders, she was involved in both Ramsey goals as the northerners mount a late title charge.
Ela Blakemore (IoM U16 girls) - a captain's performance from Ela saw her named as the coaches' player of the game in the team’s latest knockout victory. The central midfielder controlled play for the Manx squad and scored the game-winning penalty to help her side advance to the next round.
Ben Dougal (Vikings A and IoM U18 boys) - named as player of the game in both of his games last weekend, Ben was sensational for both club and country. He was an essential part of Vikings A’s victory and also bagged a goal for the island U18 boys side.
Jemma Quayle (Harlequins A) - for the second week running, Quayle has made team of the week. Making her debut for Quins A, she didn’t put a foot wrong all game during the yellow and blacks’ 3-1 victory.
Forwards
William Miller (Valkyrs U15s) - playing on the right wing for Valkyrs U15s, William played a near-perfect game. Grabbing a goal and an assist, he also created numerous chances for his side.
Oli Nandha (Vikings E) - scoring four goals on the way to a huge win for Vikings E, Oli put in a complete performance at centre forward.
Oisin Dunn (IoMU16 boys) - despite the loss, Oisin played a great game up top for the island team. Involved in both of his side's goals in a very narrow defeat, he was rewarded by being named player of the game.
