Manx rugby player Phil Cringle has signed a contract extension at Greene King IPA Championship side London Scottish.

The former Castle Rushen High School student joined the Richmond club from French side US Carcassonne ahead of the 2016-17 season and was a regular in the match day squad last year.

The 23-year-old prop featured on 16 occasions last season after enjoying competition with the likes of Ewan McQuillin and Dan Koroi and he is now aiming to cement his place in the number three shirt next season at the Athletic Ground.

Cringle also has 20 caps for Scotland Under-20s, adding to his impressive rugby CV so far in his career and, having penned a new deal, Cringle is already looking forward to another year at the club as they look to improve on their eighth-placed finish:

‘I’ve enjoyed my first season at the club and feel like it’s the right place for my game to develop. There are a lot of changes taking place and it feels like a fresh start for us which gives us all a great deal of excitement.’
