Vale of Lune avenged their home defeat by Douglas when they won 15-8 at a wet and muddy Port-e-Chee in North One West on Saturday.

The Lancaster outfit took the lead in the first minute with a Sam Broadbank try.

Bryn Snellgrove’s penalty at the other end partially redressed the balance, but a Ben Donnington score converted by Damon Hall extended the visitors lead to 12-3 at the break.

In the second half the bumper crowd saw Douglas claw back with a Glyn Hooson-Owen pushover try, but a Damon Hall penalty kept Douglas at a safe distance until time was up. The losing bonus point may prove useful for Douglas, who now drop to seventh place in the standings.
