A man who got angry in the Outback bar after having his bottom pinched has been fined £500.
Vitor Dos Santos, aged 48, of Church Road Marina, Douglas, admitted an offence of disorderly behaviour on licensed premises.
Prosecuting advocate Hazel Carroon told the court that Dos Santos was in the Barrack Street bar in the early hours on February 22.
He was at the main bar, being verbally abusive and was heard to be swearing and telling staff: ’I will kill you.’
Dos Santos was ejected from the pub and was arrested in another bar shortly afterwards.
When interviewed, he told police he had felt his bottom being pinched by an unknown person and was trying to defend himself.
Defence advocate Matthew Wilshaw said: ’Mr Dos Santos accepted in interview he was drunk.
’He had been angered when somebody pinched his bottom but he should not have reacted the way he did. But he left and did not argue as is often the case.’
High Bailiff Jayne Hughes also ordered Dos Santos to pay £125 prosecution costs.
She told him: ’There was no excuse to direct your abuse to bar staff.’
He will pay the fine and costs at a rate of £10 per week deducted from benefits.
