A 44-year-old Onchan woman has been fined £460 for four motoring offences.
Lindie Purcell, of Port Jack, sent a postal admission to three counts of having a defective tyre and one of having no vehicle licence.
Magistrates fined her £100 for each tyre and £160 for the tax offence, and also endorsed her licence with three points.
Prosecuting advocate Hazel Carroon told the court that police received a report of a Nissan Cube with bald tyres and out-of-date tax parked on King Edward Road on April 20.
When police arrived they found the tax had expired in November 2020 and three of the tyres were defective.
The court heard that Purcell has no previous convictions.
In written mitigation sent with a coroner’s admission, the defendant said that she had suffered financial hardship since March 2020 with her business closing.
Magistrates also ordered Purcell to pay £50 prosecution costs which she will pay, along with the fine, at a rate of £100 per month.
