The girlfriend of a man who claimed to jet ski to the island from Scotland in December has appeared in court charged with three offences.

Jessica Marguerita Radcliffe, aged 30, of Cushag Road, Anagh Coar, and her friend Louise Bradley, 33, of Cronk Grianagh, Braddan, were charged with breaching the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions, assault causing actual bodily harm and two counts of causing criminal damage.

Both appeared via live video link from prison before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.

The prosecution told the court on March 31 the pair drove to Port Erin, to the home of a woman with whom they had a long-running feud.

The court was told that when they got there they left their car in the street with doors open and forced their way into her home.

It’s alleged that they grabbed the woman’s phone and smashed it before subjecting her an attack, kicking and punching her.

Bradley is also charged with assaulting a police officer.

Neither of the accused has yet entered pleas to any of the allegations.

Both defendants are also alleged to have confronted a police officer who arrived at the scene, with Radcliffe hitting him and grabbing him.

Prosecution also stated that the woman who was making the accusations had suffered burns to her forehead due to being dragged.

She was also left with bruising as well as injuries to her head, arms and back.

Both of the defendants were bailed in the sum of £500 on condition they don’t enter Port Erin or contact witnesses in the case.

They will appear in court again on April 22.

lIn December, Dale McLaughlan made headlines across the world when he claimed to have travelled to the Isle of Man from Scotland by jet ski.
