A man has admitted stealing £645-worth of clothes from Sports Direct and vandalising cars in Finch Road in Douglas.
David William Atkinson, formerly of Church Road Marina, Douglas, admitted five counts of property damage, one of making threats to damage property, and one of theft.
The 32-year-old will be sentenced on January 30 after a probation report has been completed.
Prosecuting advocate Roger Kane told the court how was stopped by staff at Sport Direct in the Strand Shopping Centre on December 28 as he tried to leave with two pairs of trousers, a jacket, and a sweater.
Later on the same day he was arrested after kicking car wing mirrors on Finch Road, damaging several parked vehicles.
He then threatened to damage a police vehicle after being arrested.
Defence advocate David Clegg asked for a social enquiry report to be prepared before sentencing saying that his client had a previous matters.
Mr Clegg said that Atkinson could not currently make a bail application as he had no fixed address but was being assessed for a place at Tromode House.
The advocate asked for his client to be brought back to court on January 9 to make a bail application if he was deemed suitable for the probation accommodation.
