Fire and Rescue crews were required to remove casualties from two vehicles after a collision at the Grandstand on Wednesday lunchtime.

A service spokesperson stated: ’Douglas crews dealt with a two-vehicle road traffic collision at the Grandstand on Glencrutchery Road.

’Working alongside police and ambulance, crews removed a casualty from each vehicle and they have been transported to hospital.

’The road is closed to allow the police to conduct investigations so we advise avoiding the area at present and to take an alternative route.’

Police confirmed: ’The road will be closed between St Ninian’s traffic lights and Greenfield Road until 2.30pm for investigations to be carried out.’
