The force has confirmed that the body of a man has been recovered from Douglas Harbour on Wednesday afternoon following an extensive search led by specialist personnel.
The Isle of Man Constabulary say it is yet to formally identify the man, but he is strongly believed to be that of missing Douglas man Lee Scott.
A statement from the Isle of Man Constabulary said: ‘Police continue to support Lee’s family members and enquiries into the circumstances of his disappearance will continue.
‘We would like to thank the public for their assistance with the search for Lee over the last few days and would ask that they respect the family’s privacy and refrain from any further speculation.’
Police have been conducting ‘extensive searches’ for Mr Scott since he was reported missing last week.
The 46-year-old was last seen on Friday morning at 9.40am.
When appealing for information regarding Mr Scott’s whereabouts a force spokesperson said: ‘[We] would like to reiterate that we are concerned about the welfare of Lee and simply wish to find him safe and well.
‘Lee is not in any trouble and presents no risk to the public.’
