The Isle of Man has the joint 15th worst airport for delays compared to others in the British Isles.
A report compiled by Civil Aviation Authority looks at the average flight time delays during 2018.
Passengers at Ronaldsway saw an average 13 minute delay to their flights last year, which is the same as Aberdeen, East Midlands, Leeds Bradford and Heathrow airports.
London Stansted was ranked as the worst UK airport for passenger delays, with the data showing flights out of the airport were an average of 25 minutes late, six minutes ahead of its nearest ’rival’ Luton where delays average 19 minutes.
Compared to the island John Lennon airport averaged 10 minute delays while Manchester averaged 16 minutes, and Gatwick 18 minutes.
Of the other Crown Dependencies, only Jersey was listed and came off worse than the Isle of Man with delays averaging 16 minutes.
The data includes all flights, commercial and charter, but excludes all cancelled flights.
A Department of Infrastructure spokesman said: ’While we don’t want anyone to experience delays, sometimes these are unavoidable because of weather conditions or other factors outside the airport and the airline’s control.’
