Island road racers Mikey Evans and Marcus Simpson are both in the Far East for this weekend’s Macau Grand Prix meeting.
Evans made a solid debut at the event last year and is back for more on the RC Express Racing Kawasaki ZX10, while it is the first attempt for recent Anglesey Grand winner Simpson on the LMR powered by Jon Cuff Electrical Honda Fireblade.
Free practice takes place later this evening at 11.45pm our time, with the first qualifying session tomorrow evening (Thursday) at the same time. This if followed by another qualifying session at Friday 8.15am GMT.
The 12-lap race will take place in the early hours of Saturday morning, 1.30am GMT .
Among the entry for the 56th edition of the race are TT regulars Paul Jordan, Craig Neve, Sam West, Julian Trummer, Erno Kostamo, Evans’s team-mate Matt Stevenson and Rob Hodson.
Michael Rutter will join last year’s winner Peter Hickman and new FHO Racing team-mate Davey Todd on-board BMWs for what it team owner Faye Ho’s home race.
